Annabel helps clients to navigate the ever evolving ESG regulatory regime, including managing environmental and social compliance risk on a global scale amongst conflicting regimes.
As well as advising on all aspects of environmental and social compliance risk management, Annabel supports clients through the journey from investigation through to prosecution for criminal breaches of environmental and human rights international law, both for corporates as well as directors and officers. Annabel's experience includes responding to investigative journalist and NGO questions, attending s108 and interviews under caution with regulators, judicial reviews and statutory appeals and settling matters through a range of civil sanctions.
Annabel advises on all aspects of environmental, social (including health and safety at work), climate change and human rights issues across sectors including food & drink, solar, batteries, oil and gas (onshore and offshore), waste, water, chemicals, retail, mining, cosmetics, real estate, project finance and transport.
Annabel's practice is global, including Major Accident Hazard planning for the Mozambican Law Society, human rights advice in Kenya, Uganda and Mozambique, post-acquisition transition planning relating to environmental permits across Asia, South America, Africa and Europe, advising investors and corporates on IFC Performance Standards compliance across Africa, environmental permitting in the UK and ESG reporting in the EU.
