Biography
Becky is a trial-focused intellectual property litigator who helps innovator and technology companies protect their IP in high-stakes disputes. She focuses her practice on complex patent litigation, particularly in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors.
Becky's experience includes Hatch–Waxman (ANDA) and Biologics Price Competition and Innovation Act (BPCIA) matters, as well as competitor-on-competitor patent litigation. She also has significant experience handling trademark infringement and trade secret misappropriation cases. As a core member of trial teams in federal courts across the country, Becky has examined expert witnesses, argued pretrial motions, and drafted opening statements, closing arguments, and jury verdict forms.
From pre-suit investigation through appeal, Becky works closely with clients to develop and execute litigation strategy. She has drafted infringement and validity contentions, inter partes review (IPR) petitions and expert declarations, Markman briefs, dispositive motions, and post-trial submissions. In addition to her litigation practice, Becky advises clients on freedom-to-operate, non-infringement, and invalidity analyses; conducts intellectual property due diligence in connection with significant transactions; and evaluates patent portfolios to support licensing and business strategy decisions.
While in law school, Becky served as a judicial intern to the Honorable John Robert Blakey of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
