Biography

Daniel is an associate in our Global M&A and Corporate practice based in London and is currently on secondment to our Dubai office. Daniel is a member of our EMEA Private Equity team.

Daniel works between the Dubai and London offices and advises clients including private equity firms, sovereign wealth funds, corporates, other financial sponsors and alternative capital providers on a range of transactions including acquisitions, joint ventures, equity investments and co-investments, disposals and other corporate matters.

Daniel undertook a short secondment to GSO Capital Partners in 2020.

Experience

Representative experience includes:

  • Representation of Saudi Agricultural and Livestock investment Company (SALIC) on its acquisition of a 35% stake in Olam Agri Holdings Pte Ltd for US$1.24bn.
  • Representation of Blackstone Credit on various alternative capital transactions, financings or restructurings, including:
    • Blackstone Credit's disposal of a 15% stake in the Morson Group, a UK-based specialist recruitment group, to Onex Corporation, a Canadian listed private equity firm.
    • in relation to Cobham plc on a three-tier financing package to support Advent International's approximately £4 billion acquisition of leading global technology and services innovator Cobham plc.
  • Johnson Matthey PLC (a FTSE 100 listed speciality chemicals company) on its sale of Finex Oy (a Finnish chromatographic resin producing compa-ny), to the Jacobi Group, a material subsidiary of the Tokyo Stock Exchange listed Osaka GasChemical Co.
  • Representation of Marathon Asset Management on its investment into a Brookfield-led single asset fund, established to invest US $2bn by way of Pref Shares into GEMS Education, a global leading private school operator based in MENA.
  • Representation of Armira on the acquisition of a 40% stake of the Pharos Group, a leading pharmaceutical group based in Greece.
  • Representation of Blue Water Energy (Bluewater) on the sale of engineering company Kent to Nesma & Partners.
  • Representation of John Laing Group on its acquisition of HICL Infrastructure PLC's entire equity interest in four UK public-private partnership projects and a 37.5% stake in the Hornsea II offshore transmission assets.
  • Representation of a leading Abu Dhabi fund on its acquisition of an indirect interest in one of the world's leading commodities trading companies.
  • Asma Capital on its acquisition, through one of its funds, of (i) a 75% majority stake in the Dr. Michael's Dental Group in Dubai, and (ii) a 60% stake in KRMSC in Kuwait.
  • Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA) in the acquisition of 25% stakes in each of: (i) the company holding 40% of TAPCO, the project company for the 'Taweelah B' power and desalination complex in Abu Dhabi; and (ii) the O & M Contractor Company providing services to TAPCO.
  • Galderma on its pharma and aesthetics business model and related distributorship agreements in the UAE and KSA.
