Grace Hochstatter is an associate in the firm's National Security and Global International Trade practice groups. Grace provides strategic counsel on national security reviews before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United Sates (CFIUS), Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI) mitigation matters, global Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) regulatory screenings, and the new US Outbound Investment Security Program (OIP).
Prior to her time at White & Case, Grace served as an attorney in the Central Intelligence Agency's Office of General Counsel. At the CIA, Grace advised senior CIA leadership on a variety of legal issues implicating intelligence and national security law and assessed complex regulatory frameworks to ascertain the legal and reputational risks to CIA equities, including emerging technology, cybersecurity, privacy, and foreign threat actor matters.
During law school, Grace worked as an analyst in the CIA's Counterterrorism Mission Center (CTMC) and clerked with the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence's (ODNI) Office of General Counsel. Prior to law school, Grace worked in national security consulting assisting Fortune 500 companies on a range of government relations, contract and procurement, and security investigation services.
Grace actively engages in pro bono matters for the firm, focusing particularly on gender equality and women's health initiatives.
