Guido Hermeier advises German and International Clients on Energy Law. He has a main focus on the German and European legal framework for Renewable Energies.
Apart from representing Clients in legal disputes in front of authorities and courts Guido Hermeier advises Clients on transactions related to the energy sector.
Prior to joining White & Case Guido Hermeier worked as a Senior Associate for another leading international law firm in Düsseldorf for several years. Furthermore, he was a legal research fellow in the field of regulation of the energy sector at the universities of Regensburg and Karlsruhe.
We represented a consortium consisting of STEAG GmbH and Bejing Capital Group in connection with the bidding process to acquire EEW Energy from Waste GmbH (EEW), the market-leading energy-from-waste company in Germany, from private equity investor EQT. We advised the consortium regarding the bidding procedure, due diligence, SPA negotiations, financing and merger control procedure. In the end, EQT has reached an agreement in principle to sell EEW to the competing bidder, Beijing Enterprises Holding, for approximately €1.4 billion.
