Igor Ostapets is the Executive Partner for the Moscow office. Igor advises clients on both cross-border and domestic M&A transactions with a particular emphasis on the oil and gas, power, and metals and mining industries. He helps reduce complexity for clients in a challenging and fast-moving area, enabling them to successfully execute major transactions that evolve their businesses.

Igor has practiced in Russia for more than 20 years, and has developed a particularly deep knowledge of the local market and business climate. He has been involved in a significant number of complex transactions for both domestic and international clients, seeing deals through from planning to completion.

He advised Hess Corporation on the US$2.05 billion dollar sale of its Russian subsidiary, and has advised Russian clients on a number of significant international deals, including AAR Consortium, on the US$28 billion sale of its 50 percent stake in TNK-BP, one of the world's top ten privately-owned oil companies in the world.

Igor is frequently recognized by leading legal publications for both his M&A work and for his focus on energy and natural resources clients. He also advises clients on a number of other matters including privatization, corporate restructuring, insolvency, antitrust, corporate compliance and white collar and multi-jurisdictional disputes. In addition, he advises on project finance transactions, in particular in the oil and gas industry.
