Biography

Overview

Jake is an Associate in the Project Development and Finance Group in London. He joined the Firm as a trainee in 2020 during which time he spent six months in our Prague office, as well as completing a secondment at one of our FTSE listed clients.

Jake's experience includes acting for both lenders and sponsors on international project financing and development work, with a particular focus on the renewables, oil and gas and infrastructure sectors.

Experience

Energy Transition

Representation of NEOM Green Hydrogen Company on all aspects of the landmark US$8.4 billion NEOM Green Hydrogen Project. The project will be powered by 4GW of solar and wind energy and is expected to produce up to 600 tonnes per day of carbon-free hydrogen as the world's first utility scale green hydrogen facility and the largest greenfield renewables project in history. The financing involved a syndicate of 21 commercial banks, ECAs and development finance institutions and was recognised as "Middle East & Africa Green Deal of the Year" at the PFI Awards 2022 as well as "Structured Loan Deal of the Year" at the Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Middle East Awards 2023.

Representation of the lenders in respect of the financing of two battery energy storage systems (142MW and 57MW) to be located in the United Kingdom.

Representation of a major energy investment fund on an up to €130 million financing of a wind farm portfolio in Eastern Europe. 

Representation of a major energy investment fund on a £132 million holdco financing of a 144MW wind farm in Scotland. 

Oil & Gas

Representation of the lenders in connection with a US$1.4 billion loan to Chevron and Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) (acting as joint venture parties) to help monetise reserves, increase production and support the energy transition through the production of gas for domestic supplies. Awarded "Middle East and African Deal of the Year" at the PFI Awards 2022. 

Representation of a syndicate of lenders on the refinancing of an up to $565 million borrowing base facility for a major international oil and gas company.

Representation of a syndicate of lenders in relation to a refinancing of an up to $160 million loan to a major oil and gas company in North America.
