Overview

Ji Yang Lim is an associate in White & Case's Capital Markets practice based in Singapore. He has experience in advising issuers and underwriters in debt and equity capital offerings and equity-linked securities transactions, including Singapore IPOs, block trades and follow-on equity offerings, high-yield and investment grade bond offerings, convertible bond issuances, EMTN programme establishments and drawdown, as well as consent solicitations.

Prior to joining White & Case, Ji Yang had worked in two major Singapore law firms.

  • Axis Capital Limited, Citigroup Global Markets India Private Limited, HSBC Securities and Capital Markets (India) Private Limited and JM Financial Limited as the book running lead managers on the initial public offering (IPO) of R R Kabel Limited, a leading Indian wire and cable supplier backed by TPG Asia VII SF Pte. Ltd.
  • J.P. Morgan Securities plc and UBS AG Singapore Branch as joint global coordinators and international selling agents, and PT Indo Premier Sekuritas, PT J.P. Morgan Sekuritas Indonesia, PT Mandiri Sekuritas and PT UBS Sekuritas Indonesia as joint lead domestic underwriters, in relation to the initial public offering (IPO) of PT Nusantara Sejahtera Raya Tbk ("Cinema XXI") on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX), which included a Rule 144A/Regulation S offshore tranche. The transaction raised approximately IDR 2.25 trillion (US$150 million) and represents the largest IPO this year from the consumer sector in Indonesia. Cinema XXI is the largest cinema chain operator in Indonesia and its shareholders include an affiliate of GIC Private Limited, Singapore's sovereign wealth fund.
  • BofA Securities India Limited, Morgan Stanley India Company Private Limited, Kotak Mahindra Capital Company Limited, Citigroup Global Markets India Private Limited, Axis Capital Limited, Jefferies India Private Limited, JM Financial Limited, SBI Capital Markets Limited, IIFL Securities Limited, BOB Capital Markets Limited and ICICI Securities Limited as the bookrunning lead managers on the institutional placement of units in the Brookfield India Real Estate Trust aggregating to INR 23,053.59 million (approximately US$279 million).
  • Axis Capital Limited, BofA Securities India Limited, J.P. Morgan India Private Limited and Kotak Mahindra Capital Company Limited as book running lead managers on the qualified institutions placement of The Federal Bank Limited aggregating to INR 30,399.92 million (approximately US$370 million). The Federal Bank Limited is a private scheduled commercial bank in India and it offers a wide range of products and services in the retail and wholesale banking segment such as deposits, loans against property, automobile loans, credit cards, business loans, commercial vehicle and construction equipment loans and agricultural loans.
  • ICICI Securities Limited, Kotak Mahindra Capital Company Limited, J.P. Morgan India Private Limited, IIFL Securities Limited and Jefferies India Private Limited on the US$181 million 144A IPO of KFin Technologies Limited, a leading technology driven financial services platform providing comprehensive services and solutions to the capital markets ecosystem including asset managers and corporate issuers across asset classes in India and providing several investor solutions including transaction origination and processing for mutual funds and private retirement schemes in Malaysia, Philippines and Hong Kong. The offering was backed by global growth equity firm, General Atlantic.
  • JM Financial Limited, BofA Securities India Limited, CLSA India Private Limited and Kotak Mahindra Capital Company Limited on the US$180 million 144A IPO of Campus Activewear Limited, one of the largest sports and athleisure footwear brand in India. The offering was backed by private equity company TPG Growth III SF Pte. Ltd. and QRG Enterprises Limited.
  • Citigroup Global Markets Singapore Pte. Ltd., UBS AG Singapore Branch, Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited, China International Capital Corporation (Singapore) Pte. Limited and UOB Kay Hian Private Limited as joint bookrunners and underwriters in relation to the Rule 144A/ Regulation S IPO of Pegasus Asia, a special purpose acquisition company (the "SPAC") on the SGX. This transaction represents one of the first SPACs to be listed in Singapore and the first SGX SPAC IPO backed by international sponsors.
