John Donovan

John Donovan has an active securities and commercial finance practice. John's clients benefit from his extensive experience structuring and executing complex asset-backed securities transactions. John also advises issuers and underwriters with respect to investment company status issues arising under the Investment Company Act of 1940.

He advises issuers, underwriters, lenders and transaction sponsors in connection with securitizations involving a wide range of asset classes, including rental car and rental truck fleets, corporate vehicle fleet leases, leveraged loans, whole businesses, oil sales proceeds, diversified payment rights, intellectual property license and royalty payments and trade receivables.

John also represents underwriters, initial purchasers, placement agents and investment managers in collateralized loan obligation (CLO) transactions. Mr.Donovan regularly represents domestic and international corporate and financial institutions in cross-border Rule 144A debt and equity security issuances, credit facilities and commercial paper programs.

John joined White & Case directly after graduating from law school in 1982 and has spent his entire career in the firm’s New York office.
