Biography

Overview

John is an associate in the Firm's Washington, DC office and a member of the Global White Collar Practice Group. He advises clients in complex cross-border investigations and on compliance with anti-corruption laws. He is also an active member of the Firm's economic sanctions and export controls team and the Business & Human Rights team. John maintains an active pro bono practice, including representations of prisoners in post-conviction litigation and support of environmental governance organizations.

In law school, John served as student submissions editor for the Ecology Law Quarterly. He also interned with Civitas Maxima, a Geneva-based organization that facilitates the investigation and redress of international crimes.

Before law school, John worked in the finance and journalism fields, and as a high school teacher.

John is proficient in Mandarin, Russian, and other languages.
