Overview

Lucee Laursen is an associate in White & Case's Employment, Compensation & Benefits practice in Chicago.

Lucee focuses her practice on executive compensation and employee benefits matters, in connection with mergers and acquisitions. Lucee also advises a variety of clients on the design, implementation, and administration of equity and cash incentive plans. Additionally, Lucee works with clients to draft and negotiatie various compensation arragenemtns including employment and severance agreements.

During law school, Lucee argued and won cases in front of the Iowa Supreme Court and Iowa Court of Appeals. She also served as Associate Editor for both the Transnational Law & Contemporary Problems Journal and the Journal of Gender, Race & Justice.

Prior to law school, Lucee worked with leading think tanks and lobbying firms where she analysed economic policy.

  • Nomura Holdings America Inc., the U.S. arm of the Nomura Group, a global financial services group and one of Japan's largest investment banks and brokerage group, on its proposed US$1.8 billion acquisition of Macquarie's U.S. and European public asset management business.
  • Shutterstock, Inc. (NYSE: SSTK) on its agreement to merge with Getty Images Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: GETY), creating a premier visual content company with an approximate enterprise value of US$3.7 billion.
  • Jersey Mike's Subs, a leading franchisor of fast-casual submarine sandwich stores in the United States, on its sale of a majority ownership position to private equity funds managed by Blackstone.
  • Kohler Co. in the multi-jurisdictional carve-out and sale of its energy business to Platinum Equity, a private equity firm.
