Marat Ibragimov is a leading authority on Kazakhstan civil and corporate law as well as subsoil use legislation with a focus on the oil and gas and mining sectors. He has broad experience in mergers and acquisitions, litigation and capital markets.

Before joining White & Case in 1996, Mr. Ibragimov practiced law as a private attorney representing foreign investors and as an associate of a large international law firm in Kazakhstan.

Representing a Chinese company in the acquisition of a Kazakhstan limited liability partnership that owns oil and gas subsurface use rights in Kazakhstan.

Representing Tengizchevroil in a US$1.1 billion limited recourse bond issue and in a US$3.3 billion pari passu partner loan financing for the expansion of the Tengizchevroil oil project in Kazakhstan with ABN AMRO Bank and Lehman Brothers as Lead Managers.

Representing KazMunaiGas Exploration Production in its US$2.3 billion offering of shares and Global Depository Receipts on the London Stock Exchange.

Representing Zhaikmunai L.P. on its US$100 million offering of Global Depository Receipts on the London Stock Exchange.
