Biography
Matt has extensive experience in the delivery and financing of major power and infrastructure projects. He is experienced working on a broad spectrum of asset classes, including energy (transmission and battery storage), infrastructure (road, rail, port and social), and petroleum and mining ventures.
He has assisted clients in the successful delivery of a number of market leading transactions including:
- The procurement and restructuring of the 500kV western renewables link transmission line from Sydenham to Bulgana.
- The procurement and delivery of the availability-based concession for the Metro Tunnel rail project, the construction of twin 9km underground rail tunnels from Kensington to South Yarra and five underground stations through the Melbourne CBD valued at a total of $11 billion.
- The sale of Pacific Hydro, a renewable energy business with 19 assets across Chile, Brasil and Australia for an installed capacity of approximately 900 MW of wind and hydro electricity generation.
Matt’s experience spans all forms of project development and construction contracting models, including public private partnerships, EPC/D&C, alliances and reimbursable cost models.
Matt previously worked with the oil and gas services major, Baker Hughes.
Matt is a Counsel in the White & Case Energy, Infrastructure, Project and Asset Finance Group, a global team dedicated to providing business and strategic advice to clients regarding financing transactions, which enable the completion of major projects.
