Overview

As an experienced insolvency and restructuring lawyer, Philipp is regularly appointed as an insolvency administrator by local courts in Berlin, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Bavaria.

More than 400 companies have benefited from his representation during their insolvencies. Such companies include globally operating hospitality services of Kofler & Kompanie GmbH, fashion-retailer Tayler Bekleidungshandelsgesellschaft mbH, Innowatio Clean Energy Sourcing, an affiliated group of energy providing companies with an overall yearly turnover of more than € 500M, handling a portfolio of around 2.6 GW "green energy" from windparks and biogas plants; Citeecar GmbH, a carsharing provider that operated 600 vehicles for 20,000 users in Germany; ADAM Audio GmbH, a globally operating manufacturer of professional audio monitors; Plastic Recycling Zeitz GmbH & Co. KG, an innovative recycling-plant for bottles made of PET; GOAZ Energy GmbH, a "biopower" station company in Northern Saxony; property developer Wohnen in Prora GmbH & Co. KG, owner of 300 listed holiday apartments on the island Rügen; furthermore the start-ups Watchmaster ICP GmbH, DaVinci Kitchen GmbH, Traxx GmbH, inventicsDx GmbH, FromAtoB GmbH, Fonpit AG, Smokin' rabbits GmbH und DreamCheaper GmbH.

Philipp is part of the Firm's global team of restructuring and insolvency lawyers, a recognized leader in complex, cross-border insolvencies and workouts. Clients seek his advice for his proven ability to set out a coherent restructuring strategy, both by selling companies and through insolvency plans, after the business has continued to operate for several months. Committed to developing a sound strategic understanding of each company's circumstances, he works creatively and tenaciously on their behalf.

From 2008 to 2019 he was active as vice-chairman of the committee of certified lawyers for banking and capital markets law of the Berlin Bar Association.

Innowatio / Clean Energy Sourcing Gruppe, 2017
Philipp was appointed as insolvency administrator for the assets of an affiliated group of energy providing companies, handling a portfolio of around 2.6 GW "green energy" from windparks and biogas plants. With about 70 employees and an overall yearly turnover of more than € 500M, the group was one of the largest companies in Saxony. Only three weeks after the insolvency application Philipp succeeded in selling the unrestrictedly continued business to a company of the BayWa group. The complex supply relationships with grid operators and plant owners survived and all 70 jobs were saved.

Citee Car GmbH, 2016
Philipp was appointed as insolvency administrator for the assets of Citee Car GmbH, a carsharing provider that operated 600 vehicles for 20,000 users in Berlin, Hamburg, München and the Ruhr area. Major parts of the business were sold to investors.

GOAZ Energy GmbH, 2015
Philipp was appointed as insolvency administrator for the assets of GOAZ Energy GmbH. Three weeks after the opening of the insolvency proceeding Philipp succeeded in selling the power plant operation of GOAZ Energy GmbH to an investor. The extensive reconditioning of the crimes against the environment and insolvency by the management continues.

A.D.A.M. Audio, 2015
Acting as custodian, Philipp succeeded in the restructuring of A.D.A.M. Audio GmbH, a globally operating manufacturer and developer of professional audio monitors.

NK 2 WSA München-Nord GmbH & Co. KG, 2015
Philipp was appointed as insolvency administrator for the assets of NK 2 WSA München-Nord GmbH & Co. KG, owner of a 400 apartment residential home in Munich.

MICE AG, 2012
Acting as custodian, Philipp successfully restructured the MICE AG, Germany largest full-service provider for the procurement and marketing of meeting, congress and event solutions. He sold the divisions "Media" and "Services" to two investors. More than a half of the 50 jobs were saved.
