Pontus advises multinational companies on European Union law matters and corporate transactions. His practice concentrates on EU competition law and he has substantial experience in advising on mergers, cartels and compliance issues, with particular focus on the EU Merger Control Regulation. He also regularly advises multinational companies concerned by EU cartel investigations.
In relation to EU competition compliance issues, he has helped companies to develop tailored competition compliance programs including due diligence competition compliance reviews and training for company employees on competition law issues.
Representation of HgCapital in the NOK45 billion (US$5.3 billion) acquisition of business technology provider Visma, the largest-ever European software buyout and one of the top five globally.
Antitrust counsel to Saudi Aramco in its joint venture with PETRONAS of Malaysia under which Saudi Aramco acquired a 50 percent equity interest, valued at approximately US$7 billion, in order to develop the Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) Project in Malaysia.
Advising international private equity group Bridgepoint and Stockholm-based Nordic Cinema Group Holding AB on the antitrust aspects of the SEK 8.25 billion (US$929 million) sale of Nordic Cinema to AMC Theatres.
Nordic Capital and Avista Capital Partners on the merger control aspects of their successful US$4.1 billion bid to purchase the ConvaTec business unit from Bristol-Myers Squibb.
