Overview

Samuel P. Hershey is a partner in the Financial Restructuring and Insolvency group, based in the New York office.

A bankruptcy litigator, Sam has had a leading role in some of the largest and most complex restructurings in recent history, representing both debtors (Hertz, Boy Scouts, WOM S.A.) and creditors (Celsius, Envision, Invitae, FRG). 

Sam has vacated the convictions of two individuals who served a combined 45 years in prison for crimes they did not commit, and now represents both clients in related civil suits, achieving tens of million of dollars in settlements. Sam serves as chairman of the non-profit Ideas Beyond Borders and has worked in and out of court to end the practice of female genital mutilation.

Sam has litigated in trial and appellate courts across the country. He is admitted to practice in New York.
