White & Case partner Samuel Hershey spoke with The New York Times about the hurdles that wrongfully convicted New Yorkers often face when seeking compensation from the state.

Samuel explained that although nearly half of the claims against New York since 2016 are settled before a full trial, the state sometimes makes claimants sit through depositions and forces them back into a courtroom to defend themselves.
