Overview

Serene is an associate in the firm's Dispute Resolution group in London. Her practice includes a range of litigation and arbitration experience including commercial litigations before the courts of England and Wales and other common law jurisdictions; contentious restructuring proceedings in England and Wales; and construction, commercial, and gas-price arbitrations in various jurisdictions.

Serene joined the London office as a trainee and completed seats in the firm's Construction Arbitration, Dispute Resolution, and Financial Restructuring & Insolvency teams in London. Serene also completed a seat in the firm's Singapore office, supporting the Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions and White Collar Crime & Investigations groups in APAC.

Serene is committed to pro bono work and has supported various projects focused on England & Wales, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Hong Kong. Serene also has a strong interest in innovation at the firm and in the legal profession more widely.

Serene's recent and ongoing matters include:

Representing a shareholder in a large telecommunications company in relation to ICC arbitration proceedings in Paris and ancillary and enforcement proceedings in the British Virgin Islands.

Representing a Nigerian oil and gas company in a multi-jurisdictional investigation.

Representing Adler Group S.A. and its subsidiaries in their successful application to sanction an English Restructuring Plan under Part 26A of the Companies Act 2006, in relation to bond debt in excess of €3.2 billion.

Representing a global producer of natural gas-derived products in appellate proceedings.

Representing a subcontractor in an ICC arbitration against the main contractor related to the construction of depots related to the Doha Metro.
