Biography

Suzanne is a Counsel of the Firms Global Real Estate Industry Group and Global Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) practice based in Sydney.

Suzanne has over 10 years of experience advising on a variety of complex real estate transactions. Suzanne has a special interest in renewable energy projects and identifying and advising on land tenure issues in connection with those projects. Suzanne has acted on and advises clients on a number of real estate transactions including major commercial leasing, property development, land access agreements, acquisitions and disposals, data centres, property-related restructuring, turnaround and insolvency matters and M&A.

Suzanne regularly works closely with our domestic and international M&A, funds, project delivery and finance and FRI teams in relation to transactions where real estate is a key component of the transaction, providing advice and support and synthesising legal and commercial knowledge.

Suzanne's expertise as a real estate lawyer has been recognised by Best Lawyers as 'One to Watch' in 2023, 2024 and 2025 for Real Property Law.

Suzanne prides herself on being reliable and approachable, and forming collaborative relationships with clients and colleagues to offer efficient and pragmatic advice. Suzanne works well under pressure whilst always maintaining a high level of integrity and respect. Suzanne has extensive project management skills and can manage and co-ordinate large transactions to ensure that deadlines are met.

Experience

Vestas
Advising Vestas on a number of wind farm projects in Australia, including Winterbourne Wind Farm (700 MW capacity) near Walcha NSW and Piambong Wind Farm (550 MW capacity) near Mudgee NSW, including advising on structuring of the property documents as well as preparing and negotiating transaction documents including options to lease, options for easement, leases, easements, rent agreements and financier tripartite deeds.

TagEnergy
Conducting due diligence on the early stage development land tenure transaction documents in connection with TagEnergy's acquisition of ACE Power including its development project portfolio comprising 72 projects including BESS, wind and solar projects.

Atmos Renewables
Advising Atmos in relation to the real estate components of its proposed financing of the acquisition, construction and development of a BESS in WA, including reviewing and advising on complicated option to buy and lease structures in place between the parties.

Malabar
Advising Malabar Resources as landowner in relation to its agreements with Akaysha Energy to develop a mega-scale BESS project in the Upper Hunter Valley of NSW.

Origin Energy
Advising on the acquisition of the Yarrabee Solar Farm in NSW and the Carisbrook Solar Farm in VIC including property due diligence, negotiating transaction documents, advising on access issues and negotiating priority of property interests with TransGrid. *

Endeavour Energy
Advising on the negotiation of an option for lease, lease and ancillary ground licence for a battery storage facility at Penrith, NSW, and preparing template option for lease and lease documents for future battery storage projects. *

Foresight
Advising Foresight's Australian Renewables Income Fund (ARIF) on the real estate aspects of its AUD$700 million portfolio debt involving 23 real estate assets across Australia and 2 further assets on a holding company basis.

QuadReal
Advising on the real estate aspects of Quadreal's billion-dollar joint venture with GPT to invest in logistics properties, whereby the new JV acquired seed assets from certain subsidiary entities of GPT, including negotiating 8 contracts for sale, a property management agreement and development management agreement, and all aspects of real estate due diligence.

Crescent Capital Partners Management 
Advising on the real estate aspects of Crescent's proposed acquisition of all issued share capital in IRT Holdings and FPAS AU.

Australian Retirement Trust
Advising on the acquisition of a 49% stake in 3 key industrial assets from Mirvac at Auburn and Kemps Creek in Sydney with a combined purchase price of over $500 million, involving property due diligence and the negotiation of highly complex development management agreements and property management agreements for each of the assets. *

Logos
Advising on the negotiation of a complex umbrella deed and two contracts of sale with Amplitel for a land swap and the relocation of a mobile tower at Logos' Huntingwood Industrial Estate. *

Equinix
Advising on the acquisition of a data warehouse site at Mascot with a transaction value of over $120 million, including full purchaser due diligence, obtaining FIRB approval and negotiating the contract of sale and ancillary documents. *
