Thomas Gernay is a Local Partner in our Global Tax Practice, based in Brussels.

He advises companies and entrepreneurs on corporate tax matters. He has developed particular expertise in European and international tax aspects.

The main focus of his practice is the tax aspects of M&A, real estate and finance transactions, including deal structuring, documentation review and due diligence. In addition, his practice covers fund structuring, transfer pricing and management compensation arrangements. Finally, he is regularly involved in tax insurance work.

Thomas also regularly assists clients in tax audits and tax litigation matters.

Prior to joining White & Case in 2026, Thomas was a partner and head of tax in a Belgian law firm after having gained experience in tax departments of domestic and global law firms.
