Tom Matthijs is a local partner in our Brussels Transactional Practice Corporate and M&A practice. He advises financial investors and corporate clients on both public and private M&A transactions, joint ventures and capital market operations in Belgium and internationally. He also has broad experience in infrastructure and energy transactions.

Prior to joining White & Case, he worked for several years in the Brussels and London offices of a major international law firm.

Advising Perrigo in connection with the acquisition of Omega Pharma NV,  a Belgian based supplier of branded OTC pharmaceuticals, for a transaction value of €3.6 billion.*

Advising Siemens on the acquisition of LMS International, a Belgium based engineering company specialised in mechatronic simulation software, testing systems and engineering services, for an amount of €680 million.*

Advising HSH Nordbank in connection with the sale of its 25% stake in Northern Diabolo PPP project, which links the Brussels Airport to the Belgian long-distance railway to International Public Partnerships Limited (INPP).*

Advising a European utility company in connection with the proposed acquisition of all shares of Enfinity NV, a Belgian company specialised in developing solar photovoltaic (PV) projects.*

Advising AB InBev in connection with the post-closing restructuring following  the acquisition of Mexico-headquartered Grupo Modelo SAB for a transaction valued at €15.88 billion.*

Advising Transport for London in connection with the acquisition and financing of rolling stock in an amount of £250 million.*

Advising Thinkfree, an affiliate of Hancom Inc. (the Korean global office software provider), in connection with its acquisition of iText Group, a Belgian company engaged in the development of PDF software.*

Advising a pension fund investor in connection with the proposed privatisation of the largest Flemish distribution system operator for gas and electricity.*
