Biography
Varoon is an Associate in White & Case's Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Practice based in the Miami office. Varoon assists clients with complex restructurings and special situations, both out of court and in court. His practice encompasses all aspects of domestic and cross-border corporate reorganizations and restructurings, bankruptcy proceedings, related litigation, and out-of-court workouts and transactions.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Varoon worked at a global management consulting firm where he helped clients solve significant strategic and operational challenges.
Experience
Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority ("PREPA")
Representation of GoldenTree Asset Management, a holder of approximately $1 billion of bonds issued by PREPA, in connection with PREPA's ongoing restructuring proceedings under Title III of the Puerto Rico Oversight, Management, and Economic Stability Act ("PROMESA") in the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.
ModivCare
Representation of the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of ModivCare Inc. and its debtor affiliates, a publicly traded medical services company with over $1.4 billion in funded debt, in connection with their chapter 11 proceedings in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.
Anchor Glass Container
Representation of Anchor Glass Container Corporation, a leading North American manufacturer of premium glass packaging products, in connection with its out-of-court restructuring that materially deleveraged its $900 million of total indebtedness by over 60 percent.
Franchise Group
Representation of PIMCO and Irradiant Partners in connection with their nearly $600 million position in junior loans issued by Franchise Group Inc. and its affiliates in their chapter 11 proceedings in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
Financial Guaranty Insurance Company ("FGIC")
Representation of an ad hoc group of claimholders in connection with insurance policies issued by FGIC with respect to various securities. The group led efforts to restructure over $1 billion of obligations owed by FGIC out of court, which culminated in a comprehensive settlement and restructuring support agreement.
LATAM Airlines
Representation of an ad hoc group of unsecured bondholders who at times held over $1 billion of bonds issued by LATAM Airlines Group S.A. and its affiliates, the largest airline in South America, in connection with LATAM's chapter 11 proceedings in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. White & Case proudly assisted the ad hoc group in earning a 100% recovery on their bond claims.
Nautical Solutions, LLC
Representation of the ad hoc group of term loan lenders holding over $175 million of term loans in the chapter 11 proceeding of Nautical Solutions, LLC, a provider of vessel support services to offshore oil and gas drilling and production customers, in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.

Representation of GT Real Estate Holdings, the entity responsible for constructing the Carolina Panthers' NFL practice facility worth hundreds of millions of dollars, in connection with its chapter 11 proceedings in the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
