Bill Wynne is a former partner in White & Case’s Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group.


Recognized as a prominent figure in M&A and private equity, Bill has been listed as a leading lawyer by Best Lawyers for Corporate Law and M&A Law for more than 28 years.

Bill has served in various leadership positions in the Firm, including as Chairman of the Management Board and Head of the Mergers & Acquisition Practice. White & Case has over 2,000 lawyers and operates 40 offices in 28 countries. The Global M&A Practice now includes over 500 lawyers across the firm's 40 offices.

Bill retired from active practice in 2017.

Represented Blackstone Capital Partners L.P. in its acquisition, recapitalization and sale of Transtar, Inc.

Represented United Pan-Europe Communications N.V. in its €10.4 billion recapitalization and its acquisition of @Entertainment.

Acted for The Prudential Insurance Company of America in its disposition of its AARP Operations and its initial public offering of the Prudential Reinsurance Company.

Represented Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and its successor, Tritlantic Capital Partners, in numerous private equity investments.

Acted as lead counsel to Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation in joint venture and co-promotion transactions.

Acted as lead counsel to Sony Corporation in its acquisition of CBS Records and in the formation of the Sony Microelectronics Company.

Represented Saatchi & Saatchi Company PLC in approximately 35 acquisitions, as well as in Saatchi's subsequent recapitalization and disposition of approximately 15 subsidiaries.

Acted for Clark Equipment Company in its acquisition by tender offer of Club Car, Inc., the sale of its 50% joint venture interest in V.M.E. Group N.V. to Volvo AB and its subsequent sale to Ingersoll-Rand Company.

Represented Qatar Investment Authority in its CHF 7.5 billion (US$6 billion) investment in Credit Suisse Group AG.

Acted as lead counsel to Syngenta AG in its US$160 million agreement with Monsanto Co. to acquire Monsanto's hybrid sunflower seed business.

Represented Newmont Mining Corporation in its successful takeover defense against T. Boone Pickens.
