On September 26, 2018, Partner and Global Head of Employment, Compensation & Benefits, Henrik Patel, and Partner Nicholas Greenacre will speak on a panel titled "New Tax Laws, Same Uncertainty: US Changes in a Global Context" at the 26th Annual NASPP Conference & Exhibition in San Diego.
This Conference & Exhibition will cover a variety of topics in equity compensation, including tax reform and other major regulatory and economic developments, to the latest best practices in compensation strategy, design, administration, communication and more.
Mr. Patel and Mr. Greenacre's panel will:
- consider the implications of the recent overhaul of the US tax code under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017;
- examine the impact of revisions to Section 162(m) of the Internal Revenue Code on equity plan design and administration on US issuers and Foreign Private Issuers;
- review prior law and its impact on current plan design, getting the most out of the transition period, expected changes to plan design and administration going forward, and the best way to communicate these changes to shareholders; and
- discuss recent tax law changes in other jurisdictions and examine current political trends and their effect on future tax law changes will occur.
