GDPR (DSGVO) – one year on – Which pitfalls came into light and how can companies handle them?
Spring Series 2019 – Germany
Almost one year after the introduction of GDPR, we still read about it every day in the press. The authorities are now imposing the first penalties for infringements. Companies are asking themselves whether they have deficits in fulfilling the regulations. What sanctions will they face, and how will issues develop in the future?
This event of the Spring Series 2019 will cover the most pressing problems of the new European data protection law under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). We will discuss, inter alia, latest best practice examples for GDPR compliance and identify threats for companies from an abusive application of rights under GDPR, e.g., how opponents take advantage of these rights in litigation.
Moderated by Christof Kerkmann of Handelsblatt, a panel of highly regarded guests and experts from White & Case will provide thorough insight into the current day-to-day problems and challenges companies are facing when applying GDPR.
