Tokyo Back-to-Business Program Series 2019
Creating a legacy in the Reiwa era
While the transition from Heisei to Reiwa is not a radical break, it creates a natural opportunity to reflect on Japan's societal achievements and global economic role. The change invites us to consider old practices in light of new challenges that demand creative solutions. For example, digital platforms call for global regulation and new levels of cross-border cooperation, and energy markets—LNG in particular—are undergoing paradigmatic change as we transition to a new energy era.
In-house counsel will be on the front lines as their companies—both multinational and domestic corporations that increasingly operate in global markets—seek to navigate and capitalize on these and other developments. To help them employ the innovative thinking necessary to address today’s challenges, White & Case Tokyo presents our 28th Annual Back-to-Business Program Series from September 17 – 19, 2019.
The program includes four seminars focused on diverse sectors and industries—private equity, digital commerce, energy and corporate compliance. Senior business leaders and White & Case partners will lead each seminar, engaging with each other and attendees. The seminar series concludes with a keynote event moderated by Ms. Aiko Doden (NHK Special Affairs Commentator) and featuring panelists Mr. Masato Mizuno (Chairman, Mizuno Corporation) and Ms. Kuniko Obinata (Paralympic gold medalist and Vice President of Paralympians Association of Japan). Our panelists will share their experiences and insights on responding to challenges and achieving ambitious goals.
