White & Case Vis Pre-Moots
As with previous years, White & Case is pleased to host Vis Pre-Moots in connection with the 30th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in several offices (Brussels, Frankfurt, London, Geneva, Paris, and Prague). In line with the format of this year’s edition of the Vis Moot, these Pre-Moots will take place in person.
The White & Case Vis Pre-Moots provide teams with the opportunity to plead in front of highly experienced arbitration practitioners and scholars, to help them prepare for the oral rounds of the 2023 Vis Moot competition. We welcome universities to apply to the White & Case Pre-Moots of their choice, please note that we will endeavour to give the opportunity to as many universities as possible to participate in our events.
White & Case Brussels Vis Pre-Moot 2023
The Brussels office of White & Case is hosting the Brussels Vis Pre-Moot on 21-22 March 2023, under the auspices of the CEPANI40. The 20 participating teams will take part in four general practice rounds. The eight best teams will participate in elimination rounds up to the final.

White & Case Frankfurt Vis Prep Rounds 2023
The Frankfurt office of White & Case hosted the Frankfurt Vis Pre-Moot on Thursday, 16 March 2023. The event was held in-person in our Frankfurt office and attended by 8 teams from 4 different countries. The teams took part in four pleading rounds before three-member panels of arbitrators comprising partners and associates from White & Case and other experienced practitioners and academics.

White & Case Geneva Vis Pre-Moot
The Geneva office of White & Case hosted the Geneva Vis Pre-Moot on Friday, 10 March 2023. The event was held in-person in our Geneva office and attended by 2 teams from Switzerland. The teams took part in one general practice round, pleading before a three-member panel of arbitrators comprising partners and associates from the Geneva White & Case office.

White & Case London Vis Pre-Moot
The London office of White & Case organized yet another successful edition of the London Vis Pre-Moot on Friday, 24 February 2023. Eight teams from three countries participated in the event, with the Université de Versailles (Paris-Saclay) emerging as the winners. The teams of the University of Cambridge and the University of Turku finished as first and second runners-up respectively.
The best speaker prize was awarded to Marie Sicard of Université de Versailles (Paris-Saclay), with Eetu Ihamäki of University of Turku and Derek Qu of the LSE taking second and third place respectively.

The Paris office of White & Case hosted the Paris Vis Pre-Moot on Thursday, 23 March 2023. The event was held in-person in our Paris office and attended by 12 teams from France and abroad. The teams took part in two general practice rounds, pleading before three-member panels of arbitrators comprising highly-experienced arbitration practitioners and academics, including partners and associates from various White & Case offices.

White & Case Prague Vis Pre-Moot 2023
On Tuesday, 21 February 2023, the Prague office of White & Case hosted the pleading sessions for the Prague Pre-Moot rounds in preparation for the 30th Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. Following a warm welcome for the two teams from Charles University and Masaryk University, partner Ivo Janda talked about how participating in the Vis Moot is a great opportunity to get a taste of the realities of a career in international law. After the pleadings, students had the opportunity to discuss the possibilities of career development at our Prague office.
