Global law firm White & Case won "Latin America Practice of the Year" at this year's Women in Business Law Americas Awards, held last night in New York.

Partners Laura Black and Dolly Mirchandani were also honored as "Lawyers of the Year":

  • North America International Trade Lawyer of the Year: Laura Black
  • North America Project Finance Lawyer of the Year: Dolly Mirchandani

The Women in Business Law Awards, now in their 15th year, recognize "top women legal practitioners across a wide range of practice areas and aim to celebrate those who are not only breaking new ground in their areas of expertise but are also championing gender diversity in the legal sector."

Silvia Marchili, partner and co-head of the Firm's Latin America group, said: "We are delighted to not only win Latin America Practice of the Year but also have two of our partners, Laura Black and Dolly Mirchandani, recognized for their professional achievements, which speak to the strength of the overall group. Together, we offer clients support across the Americas and beyond, guiding them through their most complex, multijurisdictional matters."

Laura Black said: "It's such an honor to receive this award and to be a part of this team. The work we do—solving critical, cross-border issues for clients—is incredibly gratifying and crucial to keeping business and industry on a steady course in a time of great complexity and uncertainty."

Dolly Mirchandani said: "My work means everything to me, so I'm beyond moved to be included in this impressive list of fellow lawyers. As the worlds of energy, infrastructure, technology and private capital converge against a constantly shifting geopolitical backdrop, there couldn't be a more energizing moment to be guiding our clients."
