White & Case partner and head of UK Public M&A Patrick Sarch was recently quoted in the Mail on Sunday, after figures released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) revealed the first half of 2025 was the biggest half-year for overseas takeovers of British companies. Patrick noted that this trend "'may well continue to increase, with a combination of private equity and strategic corporate bidders, particularly from the US, looking to make offers for UK targets supported by improved borrowing market conditions and the relative stability of the UK market."

Patrick was also recently quoted in the Wall Street Journal, in relation to heightened activity in London's commercial centre, known as the City. The recent boom has seen growing demand for state-of-the-art office space and shows London maintains its status as one of the biggest banking and capital markets in Europe. Patrick notes that White & Case's M&A practice in London continues to grow in order to keep up with activity, driven in part by U.S buyers looking for bargains in the UK market, and that there is an active war for talent in London.
