White & Case partner and Head of UK Public M&A Patrick Sarch was featured in The Times discussing sustained international and private equity interest in UK-listed companies amid persistent valuation discounts against global peers.
"While there are concerns about what continued foreign takeovers mean for the future of UK public markets, we view this as welcome inbound investment into our open economy from buyers who see opportunities to unlock greater value under private ownership. An absence of international demand would be far worse."
Sarch also noted that, despite the London market being close to record highs, UK listed companies are "continuing to trade at persistent discounts to their international peers".
