Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Antitrust Practice with the addition of Euan Burrows as a partner in London.

"Growth in our disputes capabilities is a strategic priority for the Firm, and having Euan Burrow, a highly respected antitrust litigator, join us in London will further bolster our market leading Global Antitrust Practice and our EMEA disputes capabilities," said White & Case Chair, Heather McDevitt. "Our clients are increasing requiring dedicated antitrust litigation expertise in London, particularly in follow-on cases arising from antitrust investigations, and Euan has the ideal experience and skill set to advise on such matters."

Euan advises on a wide range of competition law, state aid and procurement law matters and has experience dealing with the European Commission, the UK Competition and Markets Authority, the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal and proceedings before the High Court in England. His practice encompasses competition law investigations, competition and procurement law litigation, regulatory challenges, judicial review, merger control and the general application of competition law to a wide range of commercial agreements. Euan joins White & Case from Ashurst, where he was a partner and global head of the antitrust, regulation and trade team.

"We expect a continued high volume of competition cases in the UK as a result of the increasingly litigious UK environment for antitrust through the Competition Appeal Tribunal and the increase in antitrust and consumer regulation across the digital, financial services and manufacturing sectors," said White & Case partner Mark Gidley, who leads the Firm's Global Antitrust Practice along with Rebecca Farrington. "Euan is a widely respected lawyer who will work closely with existing London antitrust partners Marc Israel, Michael Engel, Charles Balmain and Raif Hassan – as well as our market-leading teams in Brussels, Paris, Germany and globally – to help clients respond to the wide range of antitrust litigation, investigations and other competition law matters they may face."

Recently, White & Case successfully represented Autoliv Inc. in securing the complete dismissal of a €770million cartel damages claim in the Competition Appeal Tribunal by manufacturers within the Stellantis Group. This is one of very few private damages actions to have proceeded to trial in the UK. The case was initially pursued against several other defendant groups, all of whom settled. As the last remaining defendant, it fell to Autoliv to defeat the claim at trial.

Euan's arrival follows a number of lateral partner additions in London in recent months, including intellectual property litigation partners David Stone, Karla Hughes and Adrian Dykes, mergers and acquisitions partner Richard Browne, intellectual property partners Dan Reavill and Michael Evans, investment funds partner Alexandra Chauvin and debt finance partner Emma Russell.
