White & Case advises ABB on Netcontrol acquisition

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised ABB on its agreement to acquire Netcontrol, a provider of electrical grid automation solutions for power utilities and critical infrastructure operators.

The acquisition enhances ABB's grid automation offerings for utilities facing rising need to digitalize the electrical power grid. Netcontrol's strong grid automation offerings, combined with ABB's portfolio and global reach create growth opportunities in Europe, Asia and Middle East.

The transaction is expected to close in Q1 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

ABB (Asea Brown Boveri) is a Swiss Swedish multinational technology leader in electrification and automation, enabling sustainable industries through robotics, power and digital solutions. ABB was formed from the 1988 merger of Sweden's ASEA and Switzerland's Brown, Boveri & Cie, and is known for high-tech products in sectors like motion, process automation and power distribution, and is listed in Zurich and Stockholm.
