White & Case advises Adelis on investment in Hedvig

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Adelis Equity Partners (Adelis) on its investment in Hedvig as the new controlling shareholder together with Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB (SEB) and Nicklas Storåkers as co-investors.

In conjunction with Adelis becoming the new controlling shareholder, SEB will co-invest and simultaneously initiate a strategic distribution partnership with Hedvig. Nicklas Storåkers, Hedvig's first investor in 2017, will also invest and become Chair of the Board of Directors.

Founded in 2012 and based in Sweden, Adelis is a private equity firm managing €2.5 billion in capital. Since raising its first fund in 2013, it has made 38 platform investments and more than 180 add-on acquisitions.

Founded in 2018, Hedvig is a fast growing Swedish insurer of home, accident, travel and car insurance with 130,000 members and a total gross written premium volume of SEK 200 million.

The White & Case team in Stockholm which advised on the transaction was led by partner Shoan Panahi and included partner Martin Järvengren and associates Sebastian Wallin, Anders Westling, Karl Nordlin, Ludvig Eriksson, Alex Antikainen and Carl Brehmer.
