Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised First Sentier Investors (FSI) on its acquisition of John Laing's Australian wind farm renewable portfolio, including John Laing's stake in the Cherry Tree and Kiata wind farms in Victoria, Hornsdale wind farm in South Australia and the Granville Harbour wind farm in Tasmania.

"This acquisition in a competitive process involving a number of bidders demonstrates a strong demand for quality Australian renewable assets," said White & Case partner Nirangjan Nagarajah, who co-led the deal team.

"The transaction involves one of the largest Australian operating renewable energy portfolios ever brought to market, with a total capacity of approximately 517MW across four geographically diverse assets," said White & Case partner Joel Rennie, who co-led the deal team.

The White & Case team in Australia that advised on the transaction was led by partners Nirangjan Nagarajah (Melbourne) and Joel Rennie (Sydney), with support from partners, Joanne Draper, Michelle Keen and Adeline Pang (all Melbourne) and associates Tiffany Leach and Jessie Huynh (both Melbourne) and Danielle Ingham and Kian Newlyn (both Sydney).
