Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Groupe BPCE on the first European defence bond issued by a financial institution in Europe.
The placement of the €750 million senior unsecured bond with a five-year maturity was arranged by Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking. The funds raised will be used to finance and refinance companies active in the European defence and security sectors across the entire value chain, as well as contracts related to the development, manufacturing or production of specialised equipment in these areas. This is the first issuance targeted for the defence and security sectors. The issue was included in Euronext's new European Defence Bond label.
The White & Case team in Paris which advised on the transaction was led by partner Grégoire Karila and associate Paul-Grégoire Longrois.
