White & Case advises MidEuropa on acquisition of Optegra

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised MidEuropa on its acquisition of a majority stake in Optegra, a European ophthalmology platform operating in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and the United Kingdom.

White & Case partner Ken Barry, who led the Firm's deal team, said: "We have worked with MidEuropa for several years, utilising our experience in the healthcare sector and the CEE region."

Optegra is a leading ophthalmology business in the United Kingdom, Czech Republic and Poland, offering a wide range of procedures including cataract, age-related macular degeneration and vision correction for both public and private patients.

MidEuropa is central Europe's largest private equity firm and has a successful track record spanning more than 20 years, with over €6 billion assets under management and 44 businesses backed to date.

The White & Case team in London that advised on the deal was led by partner Ken Barry and included partner Colin Harley and associates Joe Bradley, Asta Tukiainen, Anthony Isichei, Oliver Trotman and Jacob Heath.
