White & Case advises the Play Group on sale of shares in Polski Światłowód Otwarty

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised the Play Group, a leading provider of fixed-line internet, digital TV and mobile services under the Play and UPC brands in Poland, on the sale of 50 percent of the shares in its Polski Światłowód Otwarty sp. z o.o. subsidiary to French private equity fund InfraVia Capital Partners, which specializes in infrastructure and technology investments.

White & Case also advised on the demerger of UPC and issuance of the Play Group's corporate bonds.

As part of the agreement, the Play Group transferred the assets of UPC Poland sp. z o.o.’s HFC network covering 3.7 million households to the subsidiary, and as part of the cooperation Polski Światłowód Otwarty sp. z o.o. plans to expand its broadband coverage in the medium term to more than six million households.
