White & Case advises Pure Data Centres Group on €1.3 billion senior secured financing

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Pure Data Centres Group  on securing €1.3 billion of committed senior debt against the Phase 1 development of its Seinäjoki AI Campus in Finland (SJK01), from five mandated lead arrangers including SMBC, ABN AMRO, Citi, Societe Generale and Natixis CIB.

White & Case partner, Victoria Delacey, who co-led the Firm’s deal team said: "Data centre finance is one of the most dynamic areas of the market right now, and this transaction reflects both the scale of Pure Data Centres Group's ambitions and our strength across finance and the wider data centre team. This transaction aligns firmly with White & Case's dedication to excellence in the global data centre space".

The financing will support the development of what will become one of Finland’s largest ever inward investment projects, and the largest ever by a UK company. Set across 370 acres, SJK01 has the potential to scale to a 550MW+ campus for AI workloads. The site has access to 700MVA of renewable power, supported by Finland’s stable grid, attractive energy pricing and natural cooling. Phase 1 of the development is already fully leased and will deliver 110 MW of IT capacity. The project is set to be one of Europe’s largest ever AI infrastructure projects and is expected to support over 1,500 construction jobs during its first phase and upwards of 3,000 jobs across the wider development.

White & Case also advised Pure Data Centres Group on the lease negotiations for the Finland site, with the six week execution process running in tandem with the leasing of Phase 1.
