Biography
Alberto is an Associate in the Regulatory team of the Firm’s Energy and Infrastructure group in Madrid.
He advises private equity and infrastructure funds, investment banks, corporations, and other national and international investors on domestic and cross-border energy-related transactions, as well as on matters in other regulated sectors such as education, transportation, and essential infrastructure.
His practice spans acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, co-investments, and corporate restructurings. In addition, he has experience in public tender procedures, environmental and ESG matters, and both trial and pre-trial administrative litigation.

Solaria Energia y Medio Ambiente on the regulatory aspects regarding the joint venture with Stoneshield Capital to develop battery projects in Europe, whereby Stoneshield Capital undertakes to invest at least €200 million.
Equitix Ltd. on the acquisition of a controlling stake in Capital Energy’s renewable energy portfolio in Spain, comprising over 890 MW of hybridized projects. The portfolio includes wind farms with hybridized PV installations, as well as projects incorporating BESS facilities, with individual portfolios of 90 MW, 300 MW, and 500 MW respectively.*
Sandfire Resources Ltd., with ESG reporting obligations applicable to its Spanish subsidiaries under Spanish and EU frameworks.*
Cognita Ltd., on the acquisition of several school centers in Spain (privately-owned and foreign educational systems operating in Spain).*
3i Group Plc., on the scope of obligations applicable to infrastructure concessionaires. In particular, requirements under the commonly known as “progress clauses.”*
MEAG Private Equity on several project finance operations either for renewal-energy projects or concessionaires of infrastructure concessions (e.g. roads, municipal sport facilities).*
Verdalia Bioenergy Spain, S.L. (controlled by Goldman Sachs) on the regulatory and environmental aspects of its acquisitions of biogas production projects in Spain, including two early-stage developments in Salamanca and Zamora, and a ready-to-build project in Toledo. All projects also contemplated the production of biofertilizers as a by-product of biomethane.*
Peninsula Petroleum Ltd., on compliance with Regulation (EU) No 1227/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council (REMIT), in relation to obligations applicable to gas traders operating in Spain and other EU jurisdictions.*
La Banque Postale, S.A. on the refinancing of Helexia Développement S.A.’s self-consumption PV installations portfolio, comprising facilities located across multiple EU countries. *
