Biography
Alicia is a partner of the Firms Global Real Estate Industry Group and Global Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Practice based in the Sydney office.
Alicia has over 30 years specialist real estate knowledge gained structuring and executing on a wide range of complex commercial real estate transactions including acquisitions and disposals, leasing, development, property-related restructuring, turnaround and insolvency matters, funds investment and establishment and M&A. She advises developers, owners and investors, including private equity and public companies, across all sectors and asset classes including renewable energy, infrastructure, data centres, student housing, hotels and hospitality, industrial, commercial, retail and large scale mixed-use developments in Australia and Asia.
Alicia regularly works closely with our domestic and international M&A, funds, project delivery and finance and FRI teams in relation to transactions where real estate is a key component of the transaction, providing advice and support and synthesising legal and commercial knowledge.
Alicia's expertise as a real estate lawyer has been recognised by her being named in Doyle's Guide, Best Lawyers, Chambers Asia Pacific and Legal 500.

Vestas
Advising Vestas on a number of wind farm projects throughout Australia, including Winterbourne wind farm (700 MW capacity) and Piambong wind farm (550 MW capacity), including advising on structuring of the property documents as well as preparing and negotiating transaction documents including options to lease, options for easement, leases, easements, rent agreements and financier tripartite deeds.
TagEnergy
Advising Tag Energy on its acquisition of the ACE Power group, a specialist renewable energy business which develops storage, wind, and solar PV projects, and is one of the largest energy portfolios currently in Australia by capacity. Our role included advising on the real estate aspects of the acquisition, conducting due diligence on the early-stage development land tenure transaction documents in connection with the acquisition which comprised 72 projects across asset classes including BESS, wind and solar projects.
TagEnergy
Advising TagEnergy on a number of wind farm projects throughout Australia including the Golden Plains Wind Farm Stage 3 in Victoria, including agreements for lease, lease and easement documents and neighbour agreements.
Atmos Renewables
Advising Atmos in relation to the real estate components of its proposed financing of the acquisition, construction and development of a BESS in WA, including reviewing and advising on complicated option to buy and lease structures in place between the parties.
Foresight
Advising Foresight's Australian Renewables Income Fund (ARIF) on the real estate aspects of its AUD$700 million portfolio debt involving 23 real estate assets across Australia and 2 further assets on a holding company basis.
QuadReal
Advising on the real estate aspects of QuadReal's billion-dollar joint venture with GPT to invest in a logistics property platform, whereby the new JV acquired seed assets from certain subsidiary entities of GPT, including negotiating 8 contracts for sale, a property management agreement and development management agreement, and all aspects of real estate due diligence.
Crescent Capital Partners Management
Advising on the real estate aspects of Crescent's proposed acquisition of all issued share capital in IRT Holdings and FPAS AU.
Malabar Resources
Advising Malabar Resources as landowner in relation to its agreements with Akaysha Energy to develop a mega-scale BESS project in the Upper Hunter Valley of NSW.
Aquilis Partners
Advising on the acquisition of a majority interest in the hospitality fund which invests in, develops and operates the Holiday Inn Express chain in Australia and New Zealand including providing advice in relation to the hotel leases and hotel management agreements in respect of the hotels.
CWP Renewables Limited
Advising on the property due diligence in connection with the sale to Squadron Energy of the CWP portfolio of renewables assets including multiple projects at various stages of development*
Iberdrola
Advising on the Flyers Creek Wind Farm project in NSW (110-145 MW capacity) including providing strategic land tenure advice and negotiating the terms of various land tenure agreements and easements.*
Australian Retirement Trust
Advising on the property aspects of the acquisition of a 49 percent equity interest from Mirvac in the Mirvac Industrial Venture (MIV), which owns industrial warehouse assets Switchyard at Auburn NSW and Aspect North at Kemps Creek NSW (seed assets) including negotiating the terms of the development management agreement*

Advising on property due diligence and property and security issues in the financing of Blackstone’s AUD 8.9 billion acquisition of Crown Casinos Resort Limited*

Advising on the strategy and implementation of the transfer of approximately 2000 leases in connection with the sale of the Optus telecommunications tower business, including its restructure, and the AUD 1.9 billion sale of a 70 percent stake to Australian Super.*

Advising on the acquisition of the Yarrabee Solar Farm in NSW and the Carisbrook Solar Farm in VIC including property due diligence, negotiating transaction documents, advising on access issues and negotiating priority of property interests with TransGrid.*
Endeavour Energy
Advising on and negotiating option for lease, lease and ancillary ground licence for a battery storage facility at Penrith, NSW and prepared template option for lease and lease documents for battery storage projects.*
Innogy SE / RWE
Advising on the acquisition of the rights to develop Australia’s largest solar farm in Limondale, NSW and a second solar farm in Hillston, NSW including reviewing, advising and negotiating tenure agreements including option agreements for leases, advising on subdivision of land and sublease to Transgrid for substation tenure and coordinating advice on planning issues and water rights.*

Advising on due diligence on the Nevertire Solar Farm in north west NSW involving the review of purchase option agreements, easement option agreements and lease option agreements.*
