Guillermo is an associate in the firm's International Arbitration Group in Madrid. His practice is focused on advising and representing clients in investment arbitration proceedings in the energy sector and on high-stakes construction disputes. In addition, Guillermo has experience in complex commercial arbitrations and class actions in connection with capital markets, post-M&A and joint venture disputes.

Acting for a Japanese investor in an ICSID arbitration against the Kingdom of Spain under the Energy Charter Treaty.*

Acting for a Spanish energy company in its US$600 million ICSID arbitration against a Latin American State, in a dispute relating to measures affecting the claimant's investments in the power-generation sector.*

Advising a multinational group on a corporate restructuring to maximize the investment treaty protection of its worldwide assets.

Advising an international investor with energy projects in Mexico to preserve its international arbitration rights in the context of Mexico's changes to the legal framework.

Acting for the main contractor in one of the world's largest infrastructure projects located in Central America, in proceedings before the Dispute Adjudication Board (DAB) and related ICC arbitration against the Employer, worth in excess of US$2 billion.*

Successfully advising an oil and gas company in a class action before Dutch courts on a case related to the securities market.

Acting for a Belgium company in a commercial arbitration in the Madrid Court of Arbitration concerning an M&A dispute.*

Acting for a British concessionaire in an ICC arbitration arising out of the EPC Contract of a US$1.2 billion motorway project in Eastern Europe.*
