White & Case advises SoftBank Group on investment to build 5GW of AI data center capacity in France

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised SoftBank Group on its commitment to develop and operate 5 GW of AI data center capacity in France, representing an investment of up to €75 billion. The first phase, comprising an initial €45 billion investment to deliver 3.1 GW of AI data center capacity in the Hauts-de-France region, is part of the 2026 Choose France summit hosted by President Emmanuel Macron.
The commitment marks SoftBank Group's largest AI infrastructure investments in Europe. It is designed to support the rapid growth of artificial intelligence by expanding access to high-performance compute capacity in France.
