Biography
Hope Anderson is the Office Executive Partner for the Los Angeles office of White & Case and serves as co-Head of the Firm's Artificial Intelligence Practice.
Hope's practice focuses on Data Privacy, Generative AI and product counseling and she is an active member of the Technology Industry Group.
Hope has been at the forefront of generative AI, advising on the legal implications and practical applications of technology. She specializes in US AI regulatory and product counseling for tech companies (including foundation model developers). Hope advises clients on new US state AI laws, international AI considerations and existing laws that apply to AI technologies.
Further, clients benefit from Hope's knowledge in counseling and advising on intricate data privacy and regulatory compliance matters. Hope regularly advises on compliance with a growing body of international, federal, and state data privacy laws (such as the GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, etc.) and expanding AI state laws (such as the Colorado AI Act, California AI laws, etc.), and other data protection regulations, including expanding state privacy laws. Hope advises on cookies, pixels and tracking technologies and issues under the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA). Hope also advises on privacy by design, AR/VR, biometrics, analytics and issues implicating e-commerce, consumer protection, marketing and advertising laws.
Prior to joining White & Case, Hope served as Associate General Counsel of Privacy and Product at Snap Inc., where she provided counsel on adoption and integration of early AI technologies for Snap's products. Hope is the author of numerous publications on AI and is a regular speaker on this topic. She also sits on the Advisory Board of the Future of Privacy Forum and Berkeley Center for Law and Technology and previously served on the Advisory Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
