Biography

Maria Eduarda (“Duda”) is an associate in the Energy, Infrastructure, Project and Asset Finance Practice. Since joining White & Case, Duda’s practice focuses on sponsor and lender representation in a wide range of transactions involving the acquisition, development, and financing of energy and infrastructure projects throughout Latin America.

Experience

Glenfarne Group acquisition/portfolio financing
Representation of Glenfarne and certain of its subsidiaries on a US$1.04 billion financing, a substantial portion of which financed Glenfarne's acquisition of certain energy projects in Chile.

Solar and battery energy storage projects
Representation of Atlas Energía Holding SpA, as the sponsor, in financing the development of a 215 MWp Solar PV generation asset and two battery energy storage projects comprising of lithium-ion type battery systems in Antofagasta, Chile.

Rare earth mine expansion and optimization
Representation of Serra Verde Group in closing a US$565 million financing provided by the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation. Serra Verde is a large-scale producer of rare earth elements and the proceeds of the financing will be used to finance the expansion and optimization of Serra Verde's mine located in Brazil.

USPP for PMGD projects in Chile
Representation of the placement agent and purchasers in connection with the US$290 million purchase and sale of notes issued by Matrix Renewables Chile SpA, the proceeds of which will be used to finance a 328 MW portfolio of PMGD projects in Chile. The notes were issued in the form of a private placement under Section 4(a)(2) and Regulation D of the Securities Act. BNP Paribas acted as placement agent for the transaction. This deal was awarded "Latin America Renewables Deal of the Year" by IJGlobal.

Solar photovoltaic facility financing in Chile 
Representation of Banco Santander, S.A., KfW IPEX-Bank GmbH, RaboFinance Chile SpA and Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A. and their respective affiliates in connection with the financing of a 168 MWp solar photovoltaic facility with a co-located 336 MW 4-hour battery energy storage system being developed by Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) in the Tarapacá Region of Chile.
