Biography
Patrick's practice focuses on advising banks and corporate trustees in their roles as note trustee, security trustee, security agent, and delegate/representative under sukuk transactions, as well as advising banks acting as paying agents, fiscal agents, and facility agents. Patrick regularly assists clients with debt workouts, defaults, and restructurings, and his transactional work spans Europe, the GCC, Africa, Asia and the Americas.
Patrick also provides counsel to issuers and arrangers/joint lead managers in Europe and the Middle East on a range of conventional and Shari'a-compliant capital markets transactions.

Representative experience includes:
Representation of CSC in various trustee and agency capacities on a securitisation of SME receivables originated through the Beehive platform in the UAE.
Representation of Deutsche Bank as trustee, delegate and agent on DP World's US$10 billion GMTN and US$7.5 billion Sukuk programmes.
Representation of Deutsche Bank as trustee and agent in relation to the issuance by Digital Realty of €850,000,000 guaranteed notes, fully and unconditionally guaranteed, under a New York law-governed indenture, listed on the Global Exchange Market of Euronext Dublin.
Representation of Bank of New York Mellon as trustee and agent in relation a debut Rule 144A/Reg S US$525 million green bond issuance by Limak Yenilenebilir Enerji A.Ş. (Limak Renewable Energy), comprising an initial US$450 million offering followed by a US$75 million tap issuance consolidated into a single series.
Representation of Wilmington Savings Funds Society, as trustee and The Bank of New York Mellon as principal paying agent, registrar and transfer agent in connection with the issuance by Sasol of ZAR floating rate guaranteed notes due 2030 (settled and payable in USD).
Representation of Law Debenture as delegate on the 2025 restructuring of a sukuk issued by The First Group.
