Thorsten Eggert
Biography
Overview
Thorsten is a member of our global Corporate/M&A practice group. He advises companies, financial institutions and investors on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions and general corporate law issues.
Prior to joining the Firm, Thorsten worked in the M&A department of another leading international law firm as an associate in Hamburg and during his legal traineeship in Menlo Park, California. He studied law at the universities of Kiel, Hamburg and Stellenbosch (South Africa).
Experience
Prax Group (2023)
Advised State Oil Ltd, a multinational, independent energy conglomerate on its acquisition of all shares in OIL! Tankstellen GmbH, including its subsidiaries and participations, which operate around 340 petrol service stations in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Denmark.
Ideal Standard Group (2023)
Advised the shareholders of Ideal Standard Group on all German law aspects of its sale to Villeroy & Boch AG for approximately €600 million.
BENTELER Group (2023)
Advised Benteler International Aktiengesellschaft on comprehensive €2.0 billion long-term financing, including with the debut issuance of two senior secured high yield bonds with volumes of €525 million and US$500 million, a syndicated loan facility of €810 million and a revolving credit facility of €250 million, as well as the release of collateral in 18 countries originally provided in connection with BENTELER Group's restructuring.
Armira Investment Holding
Advised Germany-based investment holding Armira on the M&A and financing aspects of its acquisition of Factor Eleven GmbH, a leading German digital marketing software company.
Encavis Asset Management AG
Advised Encavis Asset Management AG on the acquisition of several onshore wind farms.*
CEE Group
Ongoing advice of CEE Group, especially on the acquisition of several renewable energy projects (including the first wind & storage project in Germany including the respective PPA).*
