Overview

Zenya Onishi is a Partner in White & Case's Asia Debt Finance and Restructuring groups, based in Tokyo. Zenya is a licensed Japanese lawyer (Bengoshi). He has extensive experience in the debt finance area, with a particular focus on leveraged finance, acquisition finance and cross-border syndicated loan transactions. He has a wealth of experience representing financial institutions and borrowers, and he has been active in advising Japanese megabanks as lenders on Japan inbound leveraged finance and Japanese companies as borrowers on acquisition finance for their outbound M&A transactions. He also advised governmental bodies on multinational lending transactions and is further experienced in a broad range of finance matters, including financial markets regulations.

Zenya is ranked as a Band 1 Leading Lawyer for Banking & Finance in Japan by Chambers Global 2019 and Chambers Asia-Pacific 2019, 2020.

Zenya is a member of the Daini Tokyo Bar Association.
