White & Case wins Spain “Impact Case of the Year” at Managing IP EMEA Awards 2025

Global law firm White & Case was honored with the "Impact Case of the Year" award for Spain at this year’s Managing IP EMEA Awards.

The award recognizes our work on VEGAP v Mango, in which we successfully represented Spanish fashion retailer Mango in a significant metaverse art dispute whose claimants alleged intellectual property breaches. 

This was the first case in Spain to address the intersection of original IP rights and the rights of digital innovation and transformation in the metaverse. The court recognized the applicability of the US fair use doctrine under Spanish law—a decision that will have international relevance.
