White & Case Wins Three LatinFinance Awards for Projects & Infrastructure Finance

In its 2021 LatinFinance Project & Infrastructure Finance Awards released on September 30, LatinFinance magazine honored White & Case three times, recognizing three transactions on which White & Case advised among its "Deals of the Year." The awards recognize the best of the past 12 months in Latin American infrastructure finance and investment.

The winning deals on which White & Case advised were:

  • Infrastructure Financing of the Year: Salaverry Port Financing

    White & Case advised Trabajos Marítimos S.A. as sponsor and Salaverry Terminal Internacional S.A. as borrower (STI) on a US$132 million limited recourse project finance facility with various international banks. Both Tramarsa and STI are members of The Romero Group, Peru’s second-largest economic conglomerate, with consolidated annual sales of more than US$5.8 billion and with a presence in agriculture, power, and port, maritime, and logistic services, among other economic sectors.

  • Road/Rail Financing of the Year: Rumo’s US$500 Million Green Project Bond

    White & Case advised Itau BBA USA Securities, Inc., Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC, Santander Investment Securities Inc., Banco Bradesco BBI S.A., Banco BTG Pactual S.A.-Cayman Branch, Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC and J.P. Morgan Securities LLC as initial purchasers on the green bond offering by Rumo Luxembourg S.à r.l of US$500 million 5.250% senior notes due 2028 pursuant to Rule 144A and Regulation S under the Securities Act. The notes were guaranteed by Rumo S.A., Brazil’s largest logistics operator in terms of total volume transported, providing rail transport logistics, port handling and warehousing services. The proceeds raised in this offering will be used to acquire and replace locomotives and rolling stock, expand rail infrastructure, as well as building new sidings and double lines and upgrading rail infrastructure in order to allow more heavily loaded machinery under the company’s green bond framework.

  • Social Infrastructure Financing of the Year: Project Condor–Electric Bus Financing

    White & Case advised AMP Capital and its joint venture with Enel X on the long-term financing for the acquisition of 433 electric buses and related charging infrastructure used for the provision of public transportation services in Santiago.
