Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Capital Markets Practice and Italian market capabilities with the addition of Evgeny Scirtò Ostrovskiy as a partner in London.

"White & Case has built a leading US capital markets practice in EMEA with  US-qualified partners in London, Paris, Frankfurt, Milan, Dubai and Helsinki," said White & Case partner John Vetterli, head of the Firm's Global Capital Markets Practice. "With increasing demand from clients in EMEA for advice on high yield bond and other transactions governed by US law, our large network of EMEA-based capital markets partners has grown further in 2021, and Evgeny's arrival is a further step in the Firm's EMEA capital markets strategy."

Evgeny advises issuers, sponsors and investment banks on high yield debt offerings, registered debt and equity offerings, investment grade offerings, restructurings, consent solicitations and private placements, with experience across US and international finance, capital markets transactions, project finance and mergers and acquisitions. He joins White & Case from the London office of Kirkland & Ellis and brings more than a decade of experience.

"Evgeny is an experienced and capable capital markets lawyer whose strong relationships with key international private equity shops and Italian corporates and banks are aligned with our existing practice and client portfolio," said Michael Immordino, White & Case Office Executive Partner in Milan. "His experience in both the London and Italian markets, and his strong track record advising on equity, debt and high yield transactions, will bring significant benefits to clients who are pursuing pan-European and Italy-related opportunities."

White & Case Partner Oliver Brettle, a London-based member of the Firm's global Executive Committee, said: "Evgeny adds to our leading US capital markets practice in EMEA and further expands our Italian market capabilities. His arrival continues a very strong year for lateral partner additions to our London office and also follows the announcement of our largest-ever round of global partner promotions."

In 2021 to date, White & Case has added the following lateral partners in London:

  • Commercial litigation partner Lawson Caisley from Allen & Overy.
  • Project development and finance partner George Kazakov from Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners.
  • Real estate finance partner Justin Jowitt from Paul Hastings.
  • Infrastructure M&A partners Katie Hicks and Tim Sheddick from Shearman & Sterling.
